(Orphan + growth through education + everyday family life + many benefactors + face-slapping comeback)
This is someone else's story, but it offers insight into my own life.
Happy people are all alike; unhappy people are each unhappy in their own way.
From a talented young woman to a madwoman.
From a happy family to a broken home.
How many people have been ruined by gambling, drinking, and being blinded by love?
People reap what they sow. It's not that there is no retribution; the time just hasn't come.
Auntie Eight said, “I told you, she's a fool. All she knows how to do is eat.”
Her adoptive mother said, “Whether she's a fool or not, I'll have to go see for myself.”
Yu Qing got into the city's top high school, but then dropped out.
Her adoptive mother said, “I didn't even know she'd dropped out. It's not like I was the one who wouldn't let her go to school.”
“Self-study exams are hard. There's no way you'll pass.”
“Yu Qing is amazing. She's so talented at studying. She worked and raised a child at the same time, and still managed to earn her bachelor's degree through self-study...”
“Yu Qing really is gifted at studying. It's not that I didn't work hard. If I had her talent, I'd dare to dream of getting into Tsinghua or Peking University too.”
Yu Qing only smiled, then lowered her head and immersed herself in a sea of exercises, again and again, year after year.
Yu Qing said, “My future partner must not smoke, drink, or gamble, must respect their parents, and must have a college degree.” Then she used that “yardstick” to size up Mo Li.
Her uncle told Yu Qing, “You must remember to have a career of your own, raise your child well, and have insurance and savings. That's how you'll be happy when you're old...”
And so, after pushing herself to the limit, Yu Qing started “pushing her child” too. The queen of overachievers, Yu Qing, is back at it!
Happy lives are all similar, unhappy lives have their own sufferings
