Wen Xiaoman thinks the Taoist priest who just moved in next door is a lunatic. He sticks talismans on her underwear and kicks down her door in the middle of the night to whisk her away on his motorcycle for a "runaway elopement."
It isn't until she sees, in the rearview mirror, a pack of jiangshi dressed in official robes sprinting a hundred meters and even chugging Red Bull to overtake them that she realizes the whole world has gone mad.
Xie Cheng is a registered Taoist priest of Mount Longhu. He looks aloof and ascetic, but is actually a scheming cheapskate. To save money on talismans, he has devised an entirely new ghost-catching strategy: "sting operations."
And so Wen Xiaoman is forced to become his "live bait."
Xie Cheng: "Hold on tight. The jiangshi behind us are about to overtake."
Wen Xiaoman: "Help! That jiangshi in the shirt that says 'Brother, beat me to death' is waving at me!"
Xie Cheng: "Don't be scared. It just wants to check whether the ingredients are fresh."
