The Tough Wife of the 1970s: Turning a Houseful of Cowards Around

[Period setting + transmigrate + tough wife + fiercely protective + face-slapping the awful relatives + power fantasy + no goody-two-shoes heroine]

When Su Hongying opens her eyes, she discovers she's transmigrated to 1975. She's now the daughter of a butcher at the meat-processing plant, and has just married into the Zhao family's main branch in a crowded courtyard, wearing a red padded jacket.

It's a hellish level of difficulty from the start:

Her biased in-laws want to sell her younger sister-in-law for a bride price, while the second branch has been leeching off the family for years without lifting a finger.

Her husband, a demobilized soldier over six feet tall, doesn't even dare fight back when the old lady scratches bloody marks across his face.

Su Hongying: “???”

This whole bunch of spineless cowards needs setting straight, one by one!

Sell her sister-in-law? She throws out the words “human trafficking,” and the second branch is terrified into wetting themselves!

Steal the rabbit her husband hunted? She makes sure your son goes hungry in return!

Try to bully the new bride? She's here to run the household, not serve everyone!

It takes just three days for the demobilized soldier to go from kneeling and pleading to standing in the old lady's way to block her slap.

With his ears red, he asks, “Honey, was my performance today... okay?”

Su Hongying pats his head. “You're getting better. I'll reward you with an extra chicken leg tonight.”

Take down awful relatives, put nasty neighbors in their place, and seize a secure job at the state-run supply cooperative. Anyone who gets in her way gets a taste of her fists!
