Jiang Ren is a washed-up young top-tier star who was cyberbullied by the entire internet for refusing to submit to unspoken rules.
He seems too weak to hurt a fly, but in truth he's a scheming, shameless actor with no moral limits.
In a parallel modern city, a world of strange rules has descended.
Those chosen must enter eerie instances. Failure means death, and disasters will strike the real world as well.
To entertain the "eerie viewers" in his mind, he doesn't choose to play it safe.
Instead, he turns a horror game into a melodramatic family drama and a comedy variety show,
bluffing the eerie creatures until they're completely dumbfounded, and ultimately becoming a god who rules over both the world of strange tales and the real world.
Interesting.
