The Last Scavenger

There are no heroes in the wasteland.

Zhao Yun knows this better than anyone. He watched people at the stronghold stab each other over half a bottle of water. He watched a trusted brother sell him to a mutant beast as food.

After being reborn, he wants only one thing: to survive on his own.

Then he picks someone up.

Xie Feng, a technician from a research institute in the old world, is more useful than ten men with knives. She can't fight, but she can purify water, dismantle traps, and find things in the ruins that he can't even recognize.

She trusts no one. Neither does he.

They team up to get by, each taking what they need, and neither owing the other anything.

But there's never a shortage of troublemakers in the wasteland. The knives of Blackrock Stockade, the guns of the Drifter Gang, the merchants secretly passing along information: everyone has their eyes on the little they own.

Zhao Yun drives his knife into the ground and says, “If you want to take it, come and try.”

He never expected anyone to stand by him.

But that night, Xie Feng hands him a modified crossbow, Chao Meng hoists an axe onto his shoulder, and even Ji Zhao, who would sell his own mother for money, quietly shuts a door.

Zhao Yun suddenly realizes that trusting the wrong people in his previous life doesn't mean everyone is untrustworthy in this one.
