The Northern Myanmar Pig-Butchering Scam

Based on real experiences, this thriller tells the story of how I was lured to northern Myanmar by a job ad promising a monthly salary of 30,000 yuan, only to be trapped in a nightmare at a telecom fraud compound. My phone was confiscated, my freedom taken away, and if I failed to meet my targets, I was beaten, locked in a water dungeon, or even made to “disappear.” The so-called “romance scripts” were designed to scam lonely women through romance fraud, while those who tried to escape had their legs broken with rifle butts and were locked in a pitch-dark underground punishment cell. Every minute was spent in terror, and behind every scam was a family torn apart. This isn’t fiction. It’s the real hell that unfolds every day at fraud compounds in northern Myanmar.
