At the Ark, Ready to Play Cards

Four friends played cards until the early hours of the morning. One outrageous ten-pull and three Blue-Eyes White Dragons later, they’d drained their life force dry and transmigrated, souls and all, into Arknights.

The good news: Every one of them came with a fully built Yu-Gi-Oh! deck, could summon without materials, had infinite Life Points, and boasted “extra-large” combat power.

The bad news: They had absolutely no class. The eldest, Borrellord, became a humanoid mechanical Borreload Dragon. He landed in the Kazdel wasteland from the start, capable of blasting straight through a Mobile City with one shot. He also casually grabbed a white-haired Sarkaz brat to serve as his sidekick: the future W, and a stubborn mule for now. The second, Kent Layna, became a Theriomorphin modified human. Upon landing in Ursus, she slaughtered an entire army group, then suffered a double blow from her conscience and her dinosaur DNA, falling into philosophical turmoil: “Were any of the soldiers I killed good people?” The third, Raidraptor, became a mechanical body and promptly decided to lie flat, settling into a laid-back life at sea. The fourth, Maliss, became a data catgirl. Just three days after landing, she went to Great Yan to corner the “gloomy calico cat” Wang, used the promise of reviving Jie as leverage, and threatened her into signing a contract of indentured servitude. She was shameless, and made no bones about it.

Brothers turned sisters, decks turned into cheat codes, and Terra welcomed four absolute menaces. One planned to join Babel and elbow tragedy right out of the picture. Another intended to bring a little shock of twenty-first-century new thinking to Ursus. One planned to roam the world, being a pest and collecting pawns. And the last was sunbathing.
