The Country Paid 30,000 for Me, and I Paid Back 5 Trillion

In 1955, I was a poor kid who had just returned from America.

My country paid off my $30,000 debt. I bit my finger and wrote a blood oath: My life belongs to the nation.

When my System awakened, I began developing things with a total disregard for my own life.

I studied on my own, asked the workers, argued with experts, and taught apprentices.

Plastics, chips, lithography machines, aircraft engines...

I even designed the water dispensers used in Africa.
