Chen Mo is an MI6 field agent.
On a rainy night in Budapest, his informant "Nightingale" disappeared before his eyes. His partner Lin Shuang stabbed his back with a dagger, and a bullet from an antique revolver penetrated his chest.
He is dead.
Then he woke up.
In the same hotel room, unscathed, time returned to twelve hours before the mission began.
This is not the first time. He lost count of how many times he had died. One hundred and thirty-six times, or more. The ending was the same every time - Lin Shuang betrayed and a bullet penetrated his chest. The starting point is the same every time - the Four Seasons Hotel in Budapest, the black iron ring on the ring finger, and twelve hours.
He tried to stop Lin Shuang. Tried evacuating early. Tried Waiting for the Nightingale. I tried going directly to the Blood Moon Order's lair. Tried to kill her - but her eyes glowed with an eerie golden light the moment she fell, and her last words were still "I'm sorry."
The one hundred and thirty-seventh time. Chen Mo decided to do something he had never done before - not to "win", but to find the reason why it all started.
There is a line of words engraved on the inside of the iron ring. He had never seen it. Because he was afraid that it said: Zero times left.
