Two male protagonists, slightly charming people, switching careers to literature.
1965, England, Spider End Lane. Five-year-old Severus Snape picked up a silver metal ball on a rainy day. It calls itself Karen, a genderless advanced artificial intelligence. It is venomous and cynical, and is keen to pour cold water on Severus, often providing wrong answers to tease him. But Karen also told him one thing: his mother is a witch trapped in a Muggle slum, and his future is longer and heavier than any child in Spider-End Alley.
Severus didn't know what "the future" meant. All he knew was that the attic was cold, his stomach was hungry, and his father's fists hurt. But Karen's arrival allowed Severus to see a world without sadness, pain, and despair.
This is not a savior story. This is a story about a half-blood prince who has not yet grown up, a mean-mouthed AI, and the two of them building a future bit by bit in the garbage dump of Spider End Alley and escaping their fate. (Lightning protection is posted in Chapter 1, please read carefully)
