Everyday life + melodrama + female-centered + raising a child
This novel is also known as Spring Pond, Jade Dew.
After traveling to another world, Lin Jingci lives as a lowly, cautious, trembling maid in the inner household, thinking she’ll spend her whole life that way...
She suppresses her modern ideals of freedom and equality for all. While staying true to herself and struggling to survive in the household, she becomes more old-fashioned than the people of ancient times, the hardest-working model employee and the most loyal servant of them all.
Then she meets Jiang En, the Jiang family’s young master, a wicked child from the moment he was born, with a heart so venomous it beggars belief.
He listens only to Lin Jingci.
When Lin Jingci is with her third older sister, he throws a tantrum and snatches her right back to his side.
Later on...
The older brother, as refined as a spring breeze and bright moon, falls for her?
Jiang En sneers. “Not a chance!”
The dashing young general cries and begs to marry her?
Jiang En threatens to kill himself, forcing Lin Jingci to choose between them.
The sharp-tongued, handsome young marquis blushes and wants to take her as a concubine. Jiang En raises a knife and declares, “She will never be a concubine. She’ll be my wife in this life!”
The mad crown prince tries to barge in too. Jiang En says, “Then let’s see who’s crazier!”
A manipulative courtesan pulls every dirty trick to seduce her...
Jiang En says, “My dear, I can learn to do that too.”
What should have been a one-to-many ending is transformed by Jiang En into a bloody path to a one-on-one romance.
What can you do? His wife is irresistible to everyone, so of course he has to fight tooth and nail to keep her!
Jiang En: “You know my wife is beautiful and kind, right?”
“...I do... right?”
Jiang En: “If you do, you’re dead!”
A kind, brave, resourceful heroine who warms up slowly, paired with a crazy, wicked, highly skilled actor of a male lead who’s been a rabid mad dog since childhood
