This book takes the Zhenguan period of the early Tang Dynasty as the historical background, and based on historical materials such as "Records of the Western Regions of the Tang Dynasty" and "The Biography of Master Tripitaka of Da Ci'en Temple" to restore the true journey of Master Xuanzang's journey to the west to seek Dharma. The book does not have any mythological overtones. It only tells the story of a flesh-and-blood monk who faced the hardships of traveling thousands of miles, the threat of bandits, the temptation of royal power, and the suffering of loneliness. He spent seventeen years traveling 50,000 miles and 110 countries, and finally brought the wisdom of the Buddha back to his homeland. This is not a myth, this is a legend written by a real person throughout his life
