Come On, I Just Want to Slacken Off

[Everyday School Life] [One Heroine]

Lin Zhou is bound to a completely absurd System.

Other people’s Systems make them stronger. His has only one core rule:

No working hard.

If he studies seriously or thinks for himself, he gets punished;

if he slacks off, does things halfheartedly, and muddles through life, he gets rewarded instead.

So Lin Zhou makes a rational decision:

If that’s how it is, he’ll slack off completely.

He doesn’t do his homework, doesn’t pay attention in class, and fills in whatever he likes on exams.

All he wants is to quietly blend into the background.

But then things spiral completely out of control.

When he casually says “I don’t know” in class, people assume he’s deliberately hiding his abilities;

the tests he fills out carelessly earn perfect scores every time;

even the things he can’t be bothered to explain are seen by others as proof of his “remarkable self-control.”

Most absurd of all,

Su Wan, his childhood friend who grew up with him, starts looking at him in increasingly strange ways.

“What exactly are you hiding?”

Lin Zhou: “...I’m not hiding anything. I’m really just lazy.”

No one believes him.

Even the friends who know him best begin to have their doubts.

With one misunderstanding after another,

the harder he tries to slack off, the more the world pushes him to become a legend.
