In the Name of the People: Stop Laughing, This Time I'm Tilling My Own Land

[No cheats, multiple heroines, not a brainless power fantasy]

Qi Tongwei has two iconic scenes: one where he kneels before Liang Lu, and another where he fires a gun on Guying Ridge.

In between, there’s also the scene where he plows the land for a retired senior official.

Audiences watched and exclaimed, “Director Qi can really act.”

Reborn just before graduation and job placement, he was asked by Liang Qunfeng: “Are you sure?”

He said he was.

Then he shoved the application form into his pocket and left.

His job was assigned to a township, but he joined the anti-drug squad.

When no one would issue him a permit, he forged his own path.

Chen Yanshi asked him, “Are you going to plow the land again?”

He said, “Not this time. I’m tilling my own land.”

From Foshan to Handong, from the anti-drug squad to the provincial department

Those waiting to see him kneel ended up watching him get the job done on his feet.

The laughter stopped.
