Lin Manman had spent eighteen years embodying the phrase “cursed with bad luck.”
She tripped on perfectly flat ground, got food stuck between her teeth whenever she drank water, and never won a free drink. She’d get caught in downpours whenever she went out, and always came in last in raffles. Every day, her latest misfortune left her family speechless. Luckily, she came from a wealthy family and was doted on by her parents and three older brothers. She grew up carefree and made it to adulthood. Though her life was chaotic, she was surrounded by love, and had a childhood sweetheart and fiancé, Li Chenlan, who’d stuck by her since they were little and looked after her in every way.
She thought she’d spend her whole life unlucky but happy. But on her eighteenth birthday, she hit her head in an accident and awakened memories of being a supporting female character!
As it turned out, she was the miserable foil in a sweet romance novel. Her naturally unlucky constitution existed to highlight the heroine’s blessed luck, while her fiancé, Li Chenlan, was destined to be the male lead who belonged with the heroine. Lin Manman was fated to meet a tragic end.
The moment she learned the truth, Lin Manman clenched her fists: The lucky heroine? The male lead favored by fate? Whoever wants them can have them! She wasn’t playing along with this ridiculous plot anymore. She promptly decided to ditch her fiancé, make money, take it easy, and live her best life far from the leads and their drama.
But to her utter disbelief, the plot went completely off the rails!
Li Chenlan, the male lead who was supposedly going to fall for the lucky heroine, had eyes only for Lin Manman from beginning to end. He was cunning and tender with her alone, while treating the heroine who threw herself at him with nothing but disgust. His gaze grew hotter and hotter whenever he looked at Lin Manman, as if he couldn’t wait to keep her tied to his side.
Lin Manman was completely baffled. “Seriously? This isn’t how the script goes!”
When an unlucky supporting character rebels against the plot and gives up, her devoted childhood sweetheart dotes on her every step of the way, turning her unlucky daily life into comedy.
