Rainbone: The Rain Master Is Struggling Through Another Day at Work

[Western fantasy / another world / past and present lives / loyal dog / nonhuman / coming of age / plot-driven / redemption]

“What are your duties?”

“Make it rain.”

“And now?”

“Work, investigate cases, raise a dog.”

Lu Yi used to be the Rain Master.

After a flood spiraled out of control, she was stripped of her title and banished to the mortal realm. With most of her divine power gone, she became a red-haired orphan of unknown origins in a highland village.

By day, she hunts and sews alongside a hunter’s family, struggling to survive.

After night falls, she investigates the old flood, the man-eating evil spirits, and the secrets of the divine realm. She searches for the bone flute lost to reincarnation, and for the person who once told her, “I bet you’ll win.”

She thought she was looking for an old friend’s reincarnation.

Eventually, she found them.

It really was her old friend, except that for now, he was a dog.

And so, her to-do list gained one more item: figure out how to raise her dog of a man back into human form.
