The 1970s: The On-Screen Comments Help Me Steal the Heroine's Fortune

Women’s fiction, historical era setting, satisfying revenge, strong heroine, comeback, face-slapping and scum takedowns, on-screen comments

After waking from a high fever, Shen Man discovers she can see on-screen comments. They say she’s the vicious supporting character in a period novel, madly in love and destined to have her fiancé cheat her out of her entire fortune before abandoning her. Her engagement will be called off, and her reputation ruined.

Then her parents, disgraced because of her, will fall ill from overwork and die young.

She’ll marry an impoverished old bachelor with a violent streak and die amid endless abuse and humiliation.

Meanwhile, her fiancé, Gu Xiangyuan, will already have been won over by the heroine, Su Rou, becoming her number one follower. He’ll return to the city in glory, stepping over the Shen family’s blood and suffering, with a brilliant future ahead of him.

When faced with her two-timing fiancé, Shen Man breaks off the engagement in public and ruins his reputation.

Using the comments to foresee what’s coming, she plans each step carefully and sets out to make the village rich!

The impoverished mountain village becomes a prosperous community famous far and wide, then a model village for the whole province!

Villagers: “Thank you, Comrade Shen Man, for leading us to a better life!”

The commune leader: “Comrade Shen Man is a rare talent!”

Su Rou, the original heroine, cries herself sick in the bathroom: “I thought I was the heroine! Why did she take all my opportunities?”

Shen Man sneers. “You’re crooked inside, always plotting to hurt people. Your luck is mine now. I decide the village’s future!”
