Sure enough, at dusk two days later, Zhu Di’s riding crop slips from his hand.

“Father?!”

“You unfilial brat! Get on your knees! Once you’re done, go roast some sweet potatoes!”

Zhu Di kneels in the mud, his mind completely blank.

“If you do, complete this task first...”

“Roast a sweet potato for your father with your own hands.”
