Dreams have become a commodity that can be bought and sold.
Handcrafted dreams were once the source of the industry. Dreamweavers salvaged material from people’s thoughts and stitched it into dreams, one thread at a time. But for that very reason, every dream was a one-of-a-kind original that could never be replicated. Pornography and violence soon found their way in, and handcrafted dreams were driven from the market, banned from production and sale.
AI dreamweaving took their place: precise, efficient, and always emotionally stable. Every dream was warm and perfectly rounded, like a nutritional capsule with carefully measured ingredients.
And so an underground middleman emerged. In the shadows, he sold the banned, raw, razor-sharp handcrafted dreams and met a dreamweaver who still refused to give up. The dreamweaver told him: AI-woven dreams are a deeper kind of prison.
They don’t threaten or abuse you. They simply repeat the same thing over and over: if you don’t create value, you have no value. When people are only allowed to be disciplined even in their dreams, what they call stress relief is merely another, more hidden way to keep serving.
