[Period setting + doted-on heroine + 1V5 love rivalry + rugged men + intense romantic tension + face-slapping + wish fulfillment without a golden finger]
Lin Jiaojiao, a top-tier, vixen-like beauty in her previous life, unexpectedly finds herself in the 1970s as a stunning woman who has been bullied and mistreated.
From the start, she has to deal with her awful, biased parents, who are trying to force her to marry an abusive old widower?
Lin Jiaojiao gives a cold laugh, tears up the marriage contract, clears out the family compound, and volunteers to go work in the Great Northwest!
She expects nothing but endless sandstorms and hardship out there. But who would have guessed that her trip would lead her straight into a den of wild men?
The village’s antisocial veteran, the wild and unruly convoy boss, the underworld kingpin who keeps his true colors hidden, the hot-tempered machinery plant tyrant who fiercely protects his own, and the refined but rotten educated youth sent down to the countryside…
These five rugged men, feared throughout the surrounding villages, look more and more smitten with her by the day!
When the scheming white-lotus female rival gets jealous and starts trouble, the rugged men line up to take her down and put her in her place, root and branch!
When farm work wears her delicate fingers raw, all five men compete to finish her chores overnight, just for the chance to win another glance from her!
One day, after Lin Jiaojiao uses her sweet, tender voice to put a nasty relative in their place, she turns around and finds herself pinned against a wall by a tall, powerfully built man.
Veteran He’s eyes are bloodshot, his voice hoarse. “Jiaojiao, you smiled at him again today… I’d give my life for you. Couldn’t you show me a little more love?”
Behind her, the other four men close in, grinding their teeth. “Let go! Jiaojiao is mine!”
Lin Jiaojiao: “…”
Wasn’t this supposed to be a story about struggling through a hard life in the 1970s? She can barely keep up with these nightly love clashes!
How can I put it, I like stories with multiple male protagonists, and I like Shura Field, but this novel felt like I was reading three different novels. The characters of the male protagonists are all different, and the names of the male protagonists suddenly changed when I looked at them.
It's good, but that's it, the heroine is a trouble attractor, and there really isn't a day when trouble doesn't come for her.
Very interesting and well written.
