Synopsis

[Cinematic Narrative Style]+ [One of a Kind]+ [History at the Core]+ [Blockbuster War-Movie Feel]+ [The Japanese Army Isn't Dumbed Down]

Twenty thousand men. Only four hundred remained.

They were called “deserters.”

The Japanese were still on their heels.

When Leng Feng came to,

he was wearing a bulletproof vest,

with night-vision goggles attached to his helmet.

A voice sounded in his mind: System bound.

He looked at the people being hunted down.

Raised his gun.

Took aim at the Japanese.

“Bang!”

[This isn't a story about the War of Resistance. It's a war movie.]

Any Novels with Expert-Level Military and Weapons Knowledge?

A lot of war novels are written by people who know nothing about the military. They lack even basic knowledge of weapons and military affairs. The calibers are all over the place, MG42s show up right from the start, and there are piles of artillery that don’t fit the circumstances at all. Then there’s that Italian cannon: the 1897 model was already obsolete by World War II.

Any War Stories? Looking for Something Detailed

The battles shouldn't be glossed over. The author should analyze them in detail, whether they're offensive or defensive, and describe how different troop types work together. Those things are secondary, though. Most importantly, the story should showcase the protagonist's or enemy's command skills, rather than having them win through brute force.
