Seven years ago, she was his “sleeping pill.”
Lu Siheng suffered from severe insomnia for three years and paid five million to buy the rights to Shen Nian’s voice. The last page of the contract said, “Both parties may consider marriage.” She thought it was just business and signed.
One photo, one misunderstanding. She vanished for seven years, carrying his child.
Seven years later, she returns with her daughter, hoping only to get a quiet divorce.
But the man blocks her way, his eyes red and his voice hoarse:
“Five million was in the contract. What about those seven years? Shen Nian, what makes you think I’ll let you go?”
He doesn’t know that among the things she took with her when she left seven years ago was an ultrasound scan.
She doesn’t know that over the past seven years, his insomnia has worsened until he can only fall asleep to recordings of her voice.
Later, he finally learns to say those three words, but she just smiles:
“Lu Siheng, moonlight doesn’t grant kisses. If you want one, you’ll have to trade a lifetime for it.”
