My Sect's Disciples Are Everywhere

I'm looking for something like The Savior's Lies: The Laws of a Foolish World. Not urban, romance, slice-of-life, dark, overly focused on friendship, or comedy. The protagonist shouldn't be too much of a work in progress; their intelligence and personality should be normal and balanced. I want a vast world, a complex plot, and an original setting. One female lead or no female lead.
