A Stormy Night
While making a delivery, courier Lin Cheng runs a red light and is hit by a Mercedes, sent flying on the spot.
Everyone thinks he's dead.
But when he wakes up, he discovers that something is wrong with his eyes.
He can see through rough jade.
He can spot diseased areas in the human body.
He can even see other people's deepest, most hidden secrets.
An accident takes Lin Cheng from the very bottom of society into a world where jade gambling, capital, and powerful families intersect.
At first, he thinks he's simply gained some kind of “X-ray vision.”
Until, later on,
he starts seeing things that ordinary people can't see at all.
Doors.
Silver markings.
Experiments gone out of control.
And the “System” hidden behind reality all along.
More and more people start closing in on him.
And more and more people want him to disappear for good.
Only then does Lin Cheng realize
what he sees has never been X-ray vision.
It's the other side of this world, hidden from view.
And somehow, he seems to have been chosen from the very beginning.
