The ’70s Female Side Character Wants a Divorce, but Her Rough Soldier Husband Is Panicking

[Period setting + military marriage + transmigrate into a book as the villainess + legal-awareness comics + reporting and face-slapping + rough man falls hard + mutual first love]

Xu Mingzhu, a gifted art student, wakes up as the rural fiancée whom the male lead despises in a period romance novel.

The original Xu Mingzhu travels a thousand li to find her fiancé at his military base, only to be set up by her former fiancé and a scheming performer from the art troupe. Through a series of mishaps, she ends up married to Lu Changhe, the military district's infamous “black-faced roughneck.”

Her former fiancé tells everyone she has loose morals and seduced another man.

His new wife puts on a show of helplessness and claims Xu Mingzhu is breaking up a military marriage.

Everyone in the family compound calls her a shameless, crazy country woman.

The first thing Xu Mingzhu does after waking up: write a letter reporting them.

The second: call her parents and uncle to come to the base and demand answers.

The third: turn the whole story of her former fiancé taking her brother's enlistment slot, eating her family's food for five years, deceiving her into marriage, and cheating on two women at once into a comic teaching people about the law.

At first, everyone laughs at her. “You're from the countryside. What do you know about the law?”

Later, her comics cover the military district's bulletin boards, and her work gets so popular that an editor from the military newspaper comes to commission her.

The scheming woman cries and begs her to take down the comic. The scumbag kneels and begs for mercy.

Meanwhile, the roughneck husband who was stinky, broke, and wanted nothing but a divorce turns out to be the only heir of the third generation in the capital's military compound, someone no one dares to cross once he's cleaned up.

Lu Changhe puts on a tough front: “I don't like her. I just don't want her to be bullied.”

Later, he waits in line every day with an enamel washbasin: “Honey, do I smell nice today?”
