The spiritual energy is revived, but what is revived is the "divine nature" recorded in "The Classic of Mountains and Seas". The arrival of alien beasts is not an invasion, but a return home. They discover that humans have forgotten the true names and flavors of all things, and regard this "forgetting" as pollution, so they want to "purify" the world. Human beings cannot gain power through the system. The only way to survive is to become a "flavor interpreter" - by understanding the "divine nature" of alien beasts, cooking and eating them, and thus gaining the ability to fight other alien beasts.
