The Taoist Priest Is Busy, Busy Slacking Off

Lu Changsheng is the last-generation disciple of Mount Longhu. After transmigrating to the Great Sheng Dynasty, he discovers that everything he learned before, drawing talismans, alchemy, summoning lightning, and escape techniques, actually works.

This world has no spiritual energy, no cultivators, and no demons or ghosts. Everyone believes only in blades, power, and political schemes. He is the one exception.

Lu Changsheng’s ideal is simple: find somewhere quiet and enjoy his old age. But trouble has a way of finding you, even when you don’t go looking for it.

He saves a wandering swordswoman and gets dragged into a sect’s internal feud; cures a plague and draws the attention of the authorities; visits the capital and gets detained by the Grand Tutor to help put down a rebellion. Just when he finally returns to his temple to lie flat, the emperor falls gravely ill.

Shen Qingshuang asks him, “Reverend, why didn’t you stay in the mountains and live in seclusion?”

Lu Changsheng thinks it over seriously. “Because I was broke.”

This is the story of a laid-back Taoist priest forced to get to work.

His Taoist magic is real, and so is his slacking off.

He’s the only Taoist priest in the entire realm, so every problem in the realm becomes his responsibility.
