The Soul Ferry Paper-Offering Shop

On a rainy night in Jiangcheng, Lin Mo's proposal turns into a complete joke.

Betrayed, humiliated, and left with nothing, he returns to Qingxi Town after many years away and inherits the Lin family's funeral-paper shop, left behind by his grandfather.

He means to end his life there, but discovers that this seemingly ordinary shop is the only waystation for the Underworld in the realm of the living.

At midnight, the doors open and the dead come and go. Paper effigies become real, and Taoist arts bridge the realms of yin and yang.

Su Wan, the beautiful and aloof guardian of the Underworld; an old soul ferryman who loves smoking Hongtashan cigarettes; and one regret-filled ghost after another enter his life.

From a timid nobody to a soul ferryman who can stand on his own, Lin Mo gradually uncovers the secret the Lin family has guarded for generations.

As the rifts in the Underworld widen and a thousand-year-old evil ghost is about to break free, he stands at the border between the realms of yin and yang, clutching the soul ferryman's token in his hand:

"With me here, no evil spirit will set foot in the human world."
