Synopsis:
Shen Du is kidnapped by the "Death-Seeking System." The more recklessly he courts death, the stronger he gets. Back down, and he dies.
He tells a bully, "You look like the crap I took," pours cold water into the old man's soup that's been simmering for twenty years, and knocks on every coffin in a coffin shop to ask, "Sleeping well?" He thinks he's trapped in an absurd fight for survival, until he discovers that the pawnshop he's guarding is actually an ancient, dying Ruin Beast. If it dies, the whole city will be buried with it.
The System says, "Don't play the hero. Go wild for me."
Shen Du says, "I can go wild, but I might as well help this old monster along on its way."
The highest form of courting death is to smile in the face of the apocalypse and save everyone.
