Shindai Saku has three things he won’t do: pointless things, troublesome things, and things that have nothing to do with him.
So when the Hot Springs Club blows up the school building, he calmly eats pudding amid the rubble. When the Prefect Team chases him down and demands his cooperation with an investigation, he charges five hundred bucks to write their reflection essays. When the broke Problem Solver 68 can’t afford lunch, he wins them over with a pork cutlet curry and turns them into his long-term meal tickets.
Gehenna Academy is Kivotos’s most chaotic district. It blows up three times a day, and its clubs are wilder than the mob. Saku opens a general store there. On the surface, he sells snacks and drinks, repairs halo accessories, and writes all kinds of paperwork. In truth, he has a much more convenient identity: a retired commander of a shadow unit, and the only man in Kivotos who can take down mercenaries without a halo.
All he wants is a quiet life. He writes reflection essays, drinks coffee, and hacks a vending machine with a paper clip when it swallows his money, just to nab a few extra cans of soda.
But the Kaiser Corporation is up to something, Decagrammaton is digging up graves, and fragments of Color are flooding the black market. Iori from the Prefect Team stakes out the front of his store every day. The idiot president of Problem Solver 68 delivers villainous declarations with all the flair of a grade-school essay. The Pandemonium Society’s chairwoman wants to hold a military parade, and someone has planted a military-grade listening device inside a streetlight.
Everyone keeps dragging him into their mess.
Saku sighs and pulls a black umbrella from beneath the counter.
Someone has to clean up Gehenna’s messes.
But don’t get the wrong idea. He isn’t saving the world. He’s just trying to save himself some trouble.
After all, the fewer days he has to work this lousy job, the better.
I have just read Chapter 4 now, and I can't help but ask the author a few questions. The halo should not be distorted. Apart from the teachers and female students, the chicken coop consists of animals and robots. However, your plot also mentioned that there are male students (in addition to the protagonist). Finally, I want to ask, have you carefully read the BA setting? At the moment, there is just a problem with the setting, but other things are fine. The main character is also well written. I want to wait for the author's response.
