Shen Gui was the heroine of a sweet romance novel. Her kindness and resilience tamed Lu Yuxiao, a wealthy heir who was both top-tier and cruel.
She also reached the pinnacle of her career through her own talent.
But the spin-off worlds where the “villainess makes a comeback” kept expanding.
The vicious villainess Lin Juexia is reborn, and catches Lu Yuxiao’s attention by keeping her distance from him;
The disposable villainess Ye Lingxuan awakens and draws Lu Yuxiao in with her wild, uninhibited ways, turning a pure romance into something that should not be watched;
The arranged-marriage villainess Luo Qingli kills herself for love, leaving the way clear for someone who transmigrated into a book. With her quirky, money-loving nature, the newcomer wins over Lu Shenyuan, the second male lead who has a secret crush on Shen Gui;
Quick transmigration mission-taker Xu Rong fails to win her targets over again and again, and ends up in a tortured romance with Shen Gui’s childhood friend, Chu Rong, who has to suffer through a wife-chasing-to-the-crematorium arc.
And Shen Gui’s character in all these worlds, without exception, falls apart.
Her kindness becomes an act;
Her bravery becomes a way to seduce men and climb the social ladder;
The career she built through her own talent becomes the result of men pulling strings;
Though the three men were the ones who pursued her, everyone says it was all because of her saintly, innocent act and her manipulative flirtation.
And though she always had a clear-eyed view of relationships, she ends up doing the very cruel things the villainesses were supposed to do.
After learning what she had done and how things ended in every world, Shen Gui finally gets it.
Shen Gui: You’re all crazy. I’m staying far away from you!
The university she originally planned to attend? She’s not applying!
The major she originally planned to study? She’s not taking it!
The men she originally wanted? She doesn’t want them anymore!
So why are these men still hanging around her?
Is what you can’t have always the most appealing?
Ugh.
Whether your feelings are genuine or fake, I’m done playing along.
Five stars first. After all, I want to say that the heroine has to get entangled with these men. Everyone has money and status, but the heroine does not. She needs those men to get what she wants to go to school and hear. Also, is the heroine's character a little softer?
Very pretty.
The author is great, can you not use the younger one named Lu?
