Baoyu in Dream of the Red Chamber doesn’t only have Lin Daiyu. He is always surrounded by plenty of sisters and young ladies, and if you ask whether he treats Lin Daiyu differently, it seems he only treats her a little differently.
I hope there can be someone who always chooses Lin Daiyu without hesitation, stays by her side, understands her sensitivity and pride, cherishes her talent and lonely nature, and doesn’t let her leave after crying herself dry.
I’m not trying to vilify Baoyu. I think he was a good man for his time. He treated all the young ladies well and didn’t want them to suffer.
