The world we inhabit is the “Dial,” but true power comes from the “Abyssal Darknet” beneath it: a chaotic informational dimension formed from the remains of old gods and the collective consciousness of ancient civilizations.
A handful of awakened individuals, known as Cardholders, can use the “Abyssal License” System to turn that indescribable power into skills, attributes, and traits. But every improvement to their status increases their “corruption level.” If it gets out of control, they become monstrous projections of the Abyss in the human world.
If the “truth” of the world is a Lovecraftian deep sea, then every time you peer into its depths, the Abyss leaves another mark on you. Will you teeter on the edge of madness and become sustenance for the Abyss, or wield its authority in a mortal body and light a dim flame for human civilization?
