The Romance of Hua and Yi

This is an epic spanning five thousand years of civilization, from the rise and fall of empires to the reaches of Earth and the stars.

Seven survivors from Venus descended upon Mount Buzhou with three jade tablets from the Heavenly Book, scattering the sparks of ancient technology across the primordial wilderness. From then on, the boundary between Hua and Yi was repeatedly drawn in blood and fire, then dissolved again through assimilation.

Xia cast the Nine Tripods, Shang sought answers from the spirits, Zhou established rites and music, and the philosophers of the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods competed in a flourishing of ideas. Through its own intellectual ferment, Huaxia civilization forged the unique ideal of “all under heaven belongs to all.” Dynasties rose and fell, Hua and Yi traded places, yet that invisible thread of civilization was never severed. But when the iron curtain of technological blockade falls once more, and the fate of human civilization is judged by a countdown from “observers” beyond the stars, a young man awakened from an ancient jade cong will lead this ancient people to write on their final answer: why we exist, and why we coexist.

The Romance of Hua and Yi follows the divisions and fusions between Hua and Yi, weaving mythology, history, philosophy, and romance into one story. Through a narrative where iron resolve intertwines with tenderness, it asks what civilization is and where it can go. From Venus to Earth, from the Xia, Shang, and Zhou dynasties to the Starsea Era, this is an epic for all the ordinary people who struggle, strive, love, and stay together through the long river of history.
