A top assassin is reborn as a crazed man in a mountain village. He takes in an honest, muscular man who’s being bullied as his “bandit wife,” and from then on they live a chaotic, shameless farming life.
Synopsis:
Shen Jingzhe, codename “Night Owl,” was a notorious top assassin in the modern world: wickedly charming, ruthless, and experienced with people. Then he downed a cup of poisoned wine, opened his eyes, and found himself in the 1980s, a “madman” despised by everyone in a mountain village.
His house was falling apart, and he had nothing to his name. From the start, it was hell mode.
On his first day gathering herbs in the mountains, he found a man at the Mountain God Temple: Lu Lieye, the famous “Lu Fool” from the neighboring village. Even when people tied him up and bullied him, he didn’t make a sound. He had bulging muscles and incredible strength, but his simple, honest nature had left him covered in bruises.
Shen Jingzhe looked at him for three seconds and made the most profitable decision of his life: “From now on, stick with me, and you won’t have to kneel again.”
And so the madman and the fool took on the world, putting bullies and troublemakers in their place, gathering herbs, firing bricks, and taking on construction projects as they carved out a path to prosperity in their poor mountain village.
Shen Jingzhe thought he’d simply adopted a loyal, obedient guard dog. Who knew the fool would be an expert at warming the bed and keeping his feet toasty? When jealous, he had enough strength to lift the roof, and his gaze was so direct that even Shen Jingzhe, an old hand at romance, couldn’t take it.
“Brother, I want to stay with you forever.”
“Then stay with me. Why are you sitting so close?”
“I want to be right beside you.”
Later, they had a courtyard house with gray bricks, the respect of the whole village, and each other.
From Night Owl, who killed without batting an eye in his previous life, to A-Zhe of the mountain village in this one, Shen Jingzhe thought: This damn life was worth the trade.
The author's writing is very good, but I'm on the wrong side 😢
