Core Premise
Main Character: Lin Wantang, twenty-seven, a product manager at an internet company and an overworked 996 employee. She's good at making grand promises, writing weekly reports, putting together PowerPoints, and arguing her way through meetings. By accident, she transmigrates to the Zhengde era of the Ming dynasty and inhabits the body of Zhu Houzhao, the soon-to-be enthroned Zhengde Emperor, who was notorious in history for his outrageous behavior. She has a modern person's knowledge of history (she knows the Ming dynasty will fall), an internet mindset (she's good at operations and growth), and a desire to lie flat. But she's forced to become emperor, and discovers she's arrived in the wrong period: she was supposed to end up at the end of the Chongzhen era, but instead she's over a hundred years too early.
Core Conflict: She wants to return to the modern world, so she tries every ridiculous method she can think of to "bring down" the Ming dynasty and get sent back. But every reckless stunt accidentally makes the empire stronger. She tries to be a foolish ruler but becomes wiser with every passing day; she tries to destroy the country but ends up becoming the ruler who restores its fortunes.
Story Style: Primarily humorous and entertaining, with serious business thinking, strategic decisions, and clashes between modern people and ancient society woven in. It never stays serious for more than three seconds, with a constant stream of jokes that never sink into vulgarity.
