The Beiyang Warlord Era (1912–1928) began with the abdication of the Qing emperor and Yuan Shikai's theft of the fruits of the revolution. After Yuan's death, the Beiyang clique split into three major factions: Anhui, Zhili, and Fengcheng. They took turns controlling the Beijing government and fought endlessly with local warlords. During this period, the political situation was turbulent, but ideological and cultural freedom was relatively free. The New Culture Movement and the May Fourth Movement took place here. From the beginning of the Northern Expedition in 1926 to 1928 when Zhang Xueliang "changed the banner of the Northeast", the Kuomintang completed its formal unification, and this era ended. Your attention is the motivation for me to write, and I will try my best to tell every story!

The Beiyang Warlords era was a very chaotic era, similar to the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms.
