A Slacker’s Failed Attempt to Lie Flat While Building Up Another World

After becoming the cannon-fodder female lead in a primitive-world novel, Lin Xiaoyue just wants to lie flat and spend her days thinking about food and drink. But the tribe chief, Lie, announces with unmistakable authority, “You’re staying.” Forced into a life of primitive cohabitation, she gives him a deadpan stare and complains: “I refuse to sign up for this forced-love story!”

With no choice, she puts her construction skills to work: pottery kilns, terraced fields, drainage systems... Life in the Blackstone Tribe grows better and better. Lie is possessive and protective, declaring, “She’s mine!” while clumsily trying to pamper her: “You can have all the best meat in the tribe.” But the conservative elder Yan sees her as a heretic and obstructs her at every turn.

When the mysterious wanderer Xuan appears in secret, coveting her beyond-her-time knowledge, Lie shields her behind him. “Anyone who wants to touch her will have to step over my dead body first.”

Lin Xiaoyue sighs. Looks like this lazy fish won’t be lying flat after all.
