There were two kinds of people Qi Xun hated most in this life:

The first were sheltered good girls, untouched by the world and ignorant of hardship.

The second were people who promised him a future, then turned around and broke that promise.

Unfortunately,

Chu Yuan'an was both the first and the second.

That blazing summer when he was seventeen, cicadas sang without end.

Qi Xun, once the darling of the heavens but fallen into the dust, met the radiant and dazzling Chu Yuan'an.

She saved him from the mire, guided him through the darkness, and stayed by his side as he rose from the dust toward the stars.

The evening breeze was gentle, and a young heart stirred.

The girl smiled and made him a promise: "Qi Xun, when you become the greatest pilot, you have to take me to see every stretch of sky in this world!"

But before summer could end, fate had already turned cruel.

An accident made the girl disappear without a trace.

For seven years, Qi Xun blamed her and resented her, yet he could never find her.

Seven years later, at the national laboratory, a dusty cardboard box was delivered to him.

Inside were seventy-two paper planes, folded starting when she was seventeen. Every word, every line, was about him.

Only then did he finally learn that during the more than one thousand nights and days she had struggled in her hospital bed,

she had folded all her longing and love into those paper planes.

The long future they shared after reuniting was something she had fought with all her strength to beg from the Grim Reaper.

He once thought his flight path had no destination,

until that paper plane, carrying the summer breeze, flew into his sky.
