The White House Haunted-House Files

Lu Qinghe graduated from the law school at Renmin University of China.

He could have joined a top-tier law firm, taken the bar and judicial exams, and followed a respectable career path.

Instead, he chose to become a rental property agent, specializing in “flawed homes, accident properties, haunted houses, and homes with unresolved historical issues.”

He isn’t down on his luck, a failure, or someone crushed by life.

He has deliberately stepped onto the dirtiest, messiest, least respectable front line of real estate transactions.

Because he has realized:

> The law often arrives only after tragedy strikes.

> And for many ordinary people, renting a home is the last door before tragedy strikes.

He wants to stand at that door.
