Crossing Time and Space to Save Him from the Hardships of That Year

In 2025, psychologist Lin Wanqing was sorting through her grandmother’s belongings when she found a diary filled with the words “save him.” She took hold of an old pocket watch stained with blood, and when she opened her eyes again, she was standing at a train station in the bitter winter of northern China in 1975. Beside the tracks, eighteen-year-old Lu Chenzhou was being forced to bow his head and confess to “stealing public grain.” All he was desperately protecting in his arms was half a steamed corn bun he had begged for his critically ill younger sister. The moment Lin Wanqing rushed forward, the wheels of fate began to turn. Only later would she learn that this journey across fifty years was both redemption and destiny. What she had to change was not only his doomed fate, but also the fate of countless others crushed beneath the tide of the times. But when the rules of time and space began to strike back, when history’s force of correction bared its fangs, and when the scales tipped between saving one person and saving millions, she held his frostbitten hand beneath the kerosene lamp and whispered, “Lu Chenzhou, look. The moon in 1975 shines on our future, too.”
