(The plot will change. I'll write about dance steps, melody, colors, and the ocean in later books, and update the synopsis then.)
Lin Che is a sleight-of-hand magician and a tokusatsu fan.
Playing cards, coins, silk scarves: at his fingertips, these things become little miracles that leave people stunned. When he isn't performing, he curls up in his rented apartment and watches Kamen Rider. He knows Wizard and the words “the final hope,” but that's all.
He never imagined that one day he would actually wear that ruby ring.
He finds a package by the roadside with no return address, and flames spring from his fingertips. When he opens his eyes again, he's standing in a sea of flowers. A glass palace floats in the distance, and two moons hang in the sky. The world of Balala the Fairies: a cartoon his younger cousin made him watch. He recognizes the girls before him: Meiqi, Meixue, and Bebe, the princess of the Gemini constellation.
A cold System panel floats before his eyes, telling him that he has inherited Wizard's powers.
And that's all it says.
He can only rely on himself. He takes apart magic the way a magician would, and patiently figures out each ring one by one, just as he once practiced with playing cards. Queen Hala's pursuers won't wait for him to get his bearings, and something else seems to be lurking in this world: another pair of eyes watching his flames from the shadows.
He doesn't know how many battles lie ahead. He only knows that now he's wearing this ring, there's no turning back.
I feel pretty good after reading the first three chapters.
