The Great Yu Dynasty fell overnight. Crown Prince Xiao Jinye lost his country and family, had his fate stolen, and was left with only three years to live.
At death’s door, he awakened an ancient remnant artifact deep within the imperial mausoleum: the Nine Nether Remnant Lamp.
The lamp could devour life-fire, illuminate karma, forge soul-weapons, and gather heroic spirits.
From then on, Xiao Jinye used his life as kindling and his enemies as fuel. He devoured his foes’ life-fire to prolong his own, forged divine weapons from the remnants of the mighty, rallied the old forces of Great Yu, slew three rebel kings, destroyed the Great Qian Divine Dynasty, and stormed the Divine Court of Destiny.
The world called him an evil demon who defied fate. The Divine Court said he had no right to remain among the living.
But Xiao Jinye carried his lamp onward, crossing mountains of corpses and seas of blood as he rose, step by step, from a crown prince of a fallen kingdom to the summit of the heavens.
