As soon as the plane's tires touched the ground, the two kids next to me began to unbuckle their seat belts.
"Mom, Ling Su was officially dismissed by the board of directors at Ling's headquarters at ten o'clock this morning." Jiang Tang held up the tablet and sounded more businesslike than my secretary. "The current valuation is only about 7% of what it was four years ago, with negative equity."
I rubbed my temples: "The landing sound hasn't finished yet."
"That's the crew's problem, not mine." Jiang Tang pushed up his glasses. This girl was only five years old and already had a face that said "Don't talk to me if you're not smart enough."
Jiang He poked his head from the back row: "Sister, let me see dad's data."
"He is not the father, he is a research subject." Jiang Tang corrected him.
"Oh yes, research subject." Jiang He changed his words without any psychological burden, "Did he cry today? I want to watch the surveillance."
I looked out the window at the gray sky. In the past four years, the city's skyline has gained a few more buildings and lost a few sycamore trees. The vibration of the plane sliding towards the bridge spread throughout my body, and I subconsciously held my lower abdomen.
It's been flat there for a long time.
But the feeling of emptiness was clearer than when I got off the operating table.
"Mom, you are nervous." Jiang He held my wrist with his little hand, "The pulse is seventy-eight, which is twelve beats faster than usual."
"I'm not nervous."
"Yes." Jiang Tang said without raising his head, "Every time you lie, you pick at the zipper of your suitcase."
I looked down and saw that my nails were unconsciously scratching on the silver zipper. I let go.
For four years, I have been trained by these two little monsters and found countless flaws.
