Leon, a veteran programmer who worked himself to the bone in his previous life, transmigrates and finds himself the fifth prince of the Kingdom of Alpha.
Following the fine tradition of lying flat, “Let the next generation enjoy the shade of the trees we plant, and let the elders fight while I cheer from the sidelines,” he dutifully slacks off in the royal capital for five years.
His daily routine includes, but is not limited to: sunbathing in the courtyard, admiring the “long legs” of the Valkyrie Academy next door, and skillfully using excuses like “It’s unlucky to leave the house with my left foot” to avoid work.
His dream is simple: coast until retirement, collect a pension, and live out his days as a happy gentleman of leisure.
Then, on his eighteenth-and-a-half birthday, the old king finally loses patience and gives him a “surprise gift package”: Frostwolf City, a remote, barren place overrun with magical beasts and always on the brink of being wiped off the map.
[Ding! Forced employment detected. Host’s Points Shop System has been activated!]
[Ways to earn points: number of Valkyries owned, number of subjects, magical beasts killed...]
[Friendly reminder: Monthly rent will be charged starting at level two. If you don’t pay, the System will forcibly reclaim the Host’s soul~]
Crushed in an instant by his mortgage (monthly rent), Leon throws his head back and cries, “I just wanted to lie flat! Why are you forcing me to become a workaholic?!”
So, to scrape together the monthly “System mortgage” and avoid being sold off as a slave, Leon is forced to embark on a hard-nosed path to power: recruiting Valkyries, inventing cola, training beastmen, and, as a side project, unifying the continent.
This is the tearful story of a lazy slacker who never wanted to work hard, but was forced by life (the System) to become a great ruler.
