Gintama: A Collection of Gintoki X Hijikata Novellas

Still featuring Sakata Gintoki and Hijikata Toshiro, this collection contains four short and medium-length Gintoki/Hijikata stories in different settings and styles: the alternate-universe story “Yorozuya: Last-Ditch Express Delivery: TAXI GIN”; “The Cocoon,” an alternate-universe story set five years after the events of the film “Yorozuya Forever,” in the original timeline but in a world free of nightmares and apparitions; the modern alternate-universe story “Reunited at First Light,” a tutorial on revising short stories for fellow fans; and “Eternal Night’s Star,” an alternate-universe story that serves as a companion piece to the long novel “Gazing at the Moon” and picks up after the original’s “Farewell, Shinsengumi” arc.
