You Were Supposed to Flee a Famine, So How Did You Become the Richest Man in the Northeast?

In 1960, during three years of natural disasters, a severe drought struck the lands south of the Great Wall, but the Greater Khingan Mountains in the Northeast became Chen Yuan’s perfect hunting ground!

With a freshness-preserving storage space and sixty years’ worth of polar survival skills, he begins a rapid rise in a primeval snowy forest, right on the edge of the law!

Starting with an abandoned forest ranger’s cabin, he builds the Northeast’s largest business empire!

→ Simple rope snare: Catch a flying dragon and trade it for cornmeal and cotton, raising the whole family’s standard of living by 100%!

→ Hunt a hibernating black bear: Corner the black market, complete his initial capital accumulation, and multiply his wealth tenfold!

→ Treat the stubborn old man: Win over the forestry bureau convoy captain and get his hands on a Liberation truck, breaking through a hundredfold bottleneck in transport capacity!

→ Cliffside racing wager: Terrify a crooked official’s son and swagger away with a plaque making him an official supplier of special goods!

In this era of bitter cold, famine, and cannibalism, a soft heart will only get you killed faster!

A green-tea educated youth wants to trade her body for meat? Kick her into a snowdrift!

The black-market director wants to frame him? Steal the ledger and send him straight to the firing squad!

Chen Yuan fingers the jade Buddha beads on his chest as the Yuanxue convoy, loaded with mountain goods, heads for the provincial capital.

“From now on, I’m the one who calls the shots in these snowy Greater Khingan Mountains!”
