[A God of Theater fanfic + protagonist with two forms + willpower suppression + expanded lore + no System + original worldbuilding]
After Ji Wei finished reading the latest chapter of I Am Not the God of Theater in the early hours of the morning, he casually left a comment: “What would happen if someone were swept into the Gray Realm from human territory when the realms converged?”
The moment he hit send, the screen flickered, and he lost consciousness.
When he opened his eyes again, a gray void stretched above him, and at his feet lay the rotting corpse of a law enforcer. He was wearing a stranger's skin, and beneath it lurked a calamity still fast asleep.
Aurora Territory, Third District, back mountain. A rift opened with an explosion where the Gray Realm converged, and gray corruption poured through. Law enforcers Han Meng and Jiang Qin were holding the line.
No one noticed that another person had appeared on the battlefield.
Ji Wei had transmigrated into the world of I Am Not the God of Theater, and from the start, he was in the corpse of someone who had been devoured by a calamity. Worse still, the calamity inside him had awakened and was crawling out of his body.
Yet somehow, his consciousness was keeping the thing pinned down.
By chance, he discovered he could exist somewhere between the forms of a calamity and a human, neither fully fallen nor entirely human.
So here's the question: humans see him as a calamity, and calamities see him as one of their own. What is he, really?
There's only one answer: himself.
