My 26-Year-Old Landlady and Childhood Friend

“Pay the rent tomorrow!”

“Big sis, I don’t want to work hard anymore!”

“I’m only renting you a place, and you want to hit on me!”

“I’m three years older than you!”

“That’s fine.”

“An older woman by three years is a treasure.”

“I...”

“We’ve been friends since we were kids! You actually want to date me?”

“When we were little, you called me your husband and said you’d marry me when we grew up. I’m just keeping my promise.”

“That was playing house!”

“That’s why we’re childhood sweethearts.”

“You know all my flaws and little temper tantrums, and you still like me?”

“I like your temper! And I’ll accept your flaws!”

Childhood sweetheart or landlady?

Maybe this time, things will turn out differently.
