Li Tiezhu, a young shepherd from Qingshi'ao, lost his parents early and lived with his grandfather. He expected to spend his days tending sheep in a peaceful mountain village, but then the Japanese invaders came. Kuroda, the enemy commander, repeatedly provoked the villagers, trying to humiliate them. The boy cleverly answered three questions and outwitted the enemy commander, delighting the people in secret. The Japanese bore a grudge and set an ambush to capture him, but he escaped with quick wits. He passed on intelligence to help the Eighth Route Army defeat the enemy, then ventured into danger to destroy their battle plans. When the village was attacked, he organized a counterattack and won against all odds. From shepherd boy to young hero of the resistance, he protects his home with wisdom and courage, his convictions as strong as steel, yielding not an inch of ground.
